The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and has been working closely together with both the Berlinale and Berlinale Talents for many years. It works in over 100 countries to create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and to build trust between them worldwide.
The British Council’s film department provides funds for travel and accommodation to bring experts and Talents from the UK, and gives advice in the programme planning process. It also arranges preview screenings of new British films for the Berlinale Festival selectors each year. At Berlinale Talents 2016 the British Council also hosted one of the Early Bird breakfasts followed by a Talents Circle.
